Hyperflite K10 Competition Standard

SKU HFCS

The Competition Standard is the official competition flying disc for the Skyhoundz Championships, the largest canine disc competition series in the world. A Competition Standard disc was used to set the light-plastic world canine distance record of 104+ yards on November 5, 2001.

Official competition size (8 3/4" diameter/98 gram) Hyperflite K-10 flying disc. Unique opposed grip strips, provide a more positive grip for better control, longer throws and improved catchability. State-of-the-art aerodynamic design provides improved flight characteristics. Gripping surfaces do not collect grit that can act like revolving sandpaper on a dog's teeth. Reinforced high-stress sections provide more strength and durability. Safer because there are no sharp edges or protruding injection-molding spurs. Lighter and smaller so that everyone can join in the fun! Made with a space-age polymer that is certified food-safe and imprinted with food-safe ink and foil. Available in White and Neon Pink.

I came home with a K-10 disc and since most of the nation hasn't seen them yet I'll review it now. Let me say first: I WANT MORE! They are slightly smaller than the Fastback discs we use now. Slightly thicker and feel more substantial. The big improvement over what we use now is stability. These discs will make everyone look better. Just in the few minutes I've spent with it, I can promise better execution on all my releases because of the improvements. —Jim Van Cise, Willoughby, OH

I have to add my novice two cents about the K-10 - I love it too! I have to admit I was not sure that I was going to like this - but once I got my hands on it - it is amazing that such small changes can make such a big difference. For me - I have found that it is way more stable and flys a bit farther for me than the Fastback - I am just in the beginning stages of the sport - having only started last fall - but I can really see a difference! Another thing that I have found for all the girls out there - I have way more control over the disc and and it fits much nicer in my hand - since it is a smaller size and my hands are small. To describe the disc - the size of it - well it fits inside the Fastback perfectly - so perfectly they got stuck inside some of my Fastback discs - the rim feels more straight - and it is slightly heavier - and the ridges on the Fastback have been replaced with a textured pattern - otherwise it looks almost the same to me. I am sure that the more experienced people out there will have many more things to say, but as for me I like it! —April Hargraves, Fowlerville, MI

Just wanted to let you know Amy and I both think the K-10 is a great disc. And while we haven't tried them with the dogs yet (we want to save them to practice with:c), I'm sure the dogs will love them. I'm particularly impressed by their stability. I believe they will make everyone that uses them a better thrower. Overall, the K-10 is far superior to the Fastback disc. —Ron King, Indianapolis, IN
